Accident on the A656 near Hockenheim

Two people were injured in an accident on the A656 near Hockenheim on Thursday evening.

The accident happened at around 6.30pm when a car and a van collided on the A656 between Hockenheim and Mannheim. The two people in the car were injured and taken to hospital. The driver of the van was not injured.

The cause of the accident is not yet known and the police are investigating.

The A656 was closed in both directions for several hours while emergency services dealt with the accident. It reopened at around 9pm.

The accident caused long delays in the area and drivers were advised to avoid the area if possible.
