Scotland Lose To France In Six Nations Opener

Scotland lose to France in Six Nations opener

Narrow derrota at Edinburgh

Scotland lost their Guiness Six Nations opener as five first-half tries from France proved too much to overcome at BT Murrayfield.

Despite a valiant effort in the second half, the Scots were left to rue a slow start and the visitors' clinical finishing.

Forwards Uini Atonio, Gael Fickou and Sekou Macalou all crossed in the opening 18 minutes, with Damian Penaud and Thomas Ramos also touching down before the break.

Scotland responded through tries from Darcy Graham, Pierre Schoeman and Duhan van der Merwe, but it wasn't enough in the end.

The defeat leaves Scotland with a mountain to climb in the Championship, while France will head into their home match against Ireland next weekend full of confidence.
